Eine Foraminiferenfauna aus dem marinen Tertiär der Egelner Mulden (Obereozän - Oligozän / Sachsen-Anhalt) Von KIRSTEN I. GRIMM & HANS-JOACHIM BELLMANN Mit 2 Abbildungen und 1 Tafel Kurzfassung Aus dem Tertiär der Egelner Mulden, das eozäne und oligozäne Ablagerungen umfaßt, werden erstmals Foraminiferenfaunen beschrieben. Im tieferen Teil sind typisch obereozäne Formen, im höheren typische Rupel-Formen nachweisbar; beide Assoziationen sind mäßig bis schlecht erhalten, die Arten sind sämtlich Durchläuferformen. Eozän und Oligozän sind durch eine sedimentologische Lücke getrennt. Das Plankton-Benthos-Verhältnis im eozänen Grünsand ist höher als im eozänen Silt und im Rupelton; daraus läßt sich auf unterschiedliche Wassertiefen schließen. Abstract From the Egeln Synclines Tertiary both Eocene and Oligocene foraminiferal assemblages are described for the first time. Lower parts of the sections contain species typical for the Upper Eocene whereas the higher parts are characterized by Rupelian associations. Preservation of the material is generally bad and no index fossils could be found. A sedimentological gap marks the Eocene/Oligocene boundary. The plankton-benthos-ratio within the Eocene Greensand is higher than within the Eocene Silt and the Rupelian, and can be related to water depth.
